Here at The Sanctuary we strive to be both a warm, caring worshiping fellowship and a presence pursuing God’s good purposes in our community and throughout our world. We hope this site will help you get to know us a little better. Whether you’re looking for information on an upcoming event, searching for a church family, or have a pastoral or ritual need, we hope you will find what you need with ease. Please contact us if we may be of assistance in any way. Because we understand this site to be an extension of our flesh and blood community, I leave you to explore with the same words with which we begin each worship service – Welcome Home.
At The Sanctuary children are a cherished part of our faith family. Families are encouraged to allow their young worshippers to remain with them throughout our service. We will greet their occasional “joyful noise” with understanding and delight. If you prefer child care through 2nd grade ask a church member to direct you to the children's suite.
There are a lot of ways to answer that question, but for the moment let’s assume you want to know about our denominational affiliation.
We are ecumenical. Simply said, that means we don’t place any barriers on who may be a part of our community and we strive to include everyone in worship and service. We have all kinds at The Sanctuary, and we’re proud of that. We make our own decisions (congregational polity), partner with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and our pastor identifies as a progressive Baptist.
In short, we are an ecumenical church coming out of the Baptist tradition. If you need to know us better than that the best way is to come visit us.
